How to use concentrated dog shampoo

How to use concentrated dog shampoo

Concentrated shampoos are good for the environment, minimising packaging and transport miles, as well as great value. Though they are slightly more work than a pump and go option, diluting them is simple. The Peanut & Pickle shampoos available in our shop are designed to be diluted 30:1.

Using a mixer bottle

The easiest way to dilute shampoo for bathing your dog is a mixer bottle. Simply fill with warm water to the water fill line and add shampoo to the shampoo fill line (this process may go in reverse depending on the design of your bottle). Shake thoroughly, test the temperature and you are good to go!

Using a measuring jug

If you don’t have a mixer bottle you can simply use a measuring jug.

  1. To work out how much shampoo you will need, take the capacity of your jug and divide it by 30. For example, a 1000ml (1L) jug will require approximately 33ml of shampoo.
  2. If your measuring jug does not have small enough increments marked for measuring your shampoo, you can weigh it instead. Change the units on your kitchen scales to ml, place your empty jug on the scales and tare them to zero. Next, add your shampoo to the desired weight.
  3. Fill the rest of your jug with warm water and stir to combine.
